What to Pack For a Trip to Paris

Planning a trip to the City of Lights? Whether you're visiting Paris for a week or a weekend, there are a few key pieces you should never leave home without! Below, check out our list of top 10 must-pack items to include in your Weekender Bag for the perfect trip to Paris, from a beret to red lipstick to a classic striped tee. #FawnVoyage!

10 Things to Pack In Your Weekender Bag For a Trip to Paris

What to Pack For a Trip to Paris - Fawn Design Travel Collection

1. SNEAKERS

You're going to be walking a LOT in Paris (on our last trip, we averaged 8 miles a day!), so cute but comfy sneakers are key. Lucky for you, chic Parisians wear sneakers with everything from jeans to dresses, so you won't feel like a total tourist. Just be sure to pick a pair that's fashionable and functional. We love these classic white Vans and these cool Veja sneakers

2. STRIPED TEE

There's nothing more quintessentially French than a classic striped tee (except for a beret—see number 9 below for more on that!). Breton-striped shirts were part of the French Navy uniform and later popularized by Coco Chanel. We like this black and white striped tee—perfect for pairing with jeans and layering under a sweater or jacket.

3. DRY SHAMPOO

We never leave home without a bottle of dry shampoo. It's the perfect fix for your hair when you're traveling to help revive and refresh your tresses. We like the dry shampoo offerings from OUAI, R+Co, and Bumble & Bumble.

4. SCARF

A lightweight scarf is the perfect accessory for a trip to Paris. Wrap it around your neck, wear it in your hair, or tie it to your bag for a dose of Parisian flair. Pack a scarf in a fun color or pattern to dress up basics in your travel wardrobe.

5. RED LIPSTICK

French women are known for their effortless beauty, so when traveling to Paris you only need to pack a few makeup essentials in your Cosmetic Bag like mascara, tinted moisturizer, and of course red lipstick. Get the perfect crimson pout with this NARS lipstick

6. CAMERA

We love our iPhone for snapping pics as much as the next traveler. But for a trip to Paris, there's something special about documenting your travel memories on a film camera. We like these vintage versions, but for a modern update consider a portable Polaroid or Fujifilm camera

7. GUIDE BOOK

Call us old school, but we love a printed guide book as a point reference when visiting a new city. Luckily, there are plenty of modern travel books that will not only be inspiring when you travel, but will look just as good on your coffee table when you get home. Case in point: the Cereal City Guide to Paris

8. SUNGLASSES

Stylish sunnies are a travel must. When seeing the sights in Paris, you can't go wrong with a classic pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers or a sleek aviator style

9. BERET

What's more Parisian than a beret? (Besides maybe a baguette.) Wear your beret for a day of sight-seeing or at night while dining at a sidewalk cafe. We love this cherry red wool beret for a pop of color against the gray backdrop of Paris.

10. LEATHER JACKET

Whether you visit Paris in the spring, summer, fall, or winter, a leather jacket is the perfect topper to keep you warm while looking cool. Layer it with a cozy sweater and chunky scarf in colder months or wear it with your striped tee for warmer days. This black leather jacket is an investment piece you won't regret!
