Adventuring with Fawn Design | Lisa + Jeff Allen
We are so excited to finally share a new series we've been working on that we will be featuring on the blog over the next several months! We will be talking with some of our favorite influential mamas and sharing more about their story, their family and how they like to adventure together! You will get to dive in a bit deeper with these families and also get to know some of their favorite local spots to hang out + eat out in their area! We hope you will enjoy coming along this journey with Fawn Design!
Today we are chatting with the beautiful + inspiring mama, Lisa Allen of Salty Lashes! We are obsessed with Lisa's stylish eye for fashion and interior design and she's always offering the best lifestyle tips all while raising 4 girls with her husband, Jeff, in Encinitas, California. Let's jump right in and get to know the Allen Family even better!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU + YOUR FAMILY?
My name is Lisa Allen. My husband Jeff and I live in the beach town Encinitas, CA with our four daughters: Avery, Poppy, Goldie and Ozzy. I am a licensed esthetician, personal trainer and blogger. Jeff is carpenter who specializes in custom doors, stairs and beams.
WHAT IS LIFE LIKE WITH 4 GIRLS?
Loud. The age range of my girls is 13 to 3 months. So 2 teenage daughters, a 7 year old and a newborn..like I said, LOUD. Adding Ozzy to the mix 7 years after Goldie has been a huge blessing to all of us. I was a little nervous feeling that I was starting over due to the large age gap, but it's awesome! I highly recommend to anyone who thought they were done having kids and is now re-thinkning it, to go for it. I'm so happy we did!
HOW HAS LIFE CHANGED SINCE ADDING A NEW BABY TO THE FAMILY?
Not a lot to be honest, other than I can't keep my days, weeks, months in order (it's all a blur, I blame summer vacation). I think because I am older this time and experienced as a mom, I feel much more relaxed with Ozzy. She is a really sweet baby, like SO sweet and that definitely helps.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE?
We moved to Encinitas from Orange County 2 years ago. I personally miss Orange County, but appreciate what Encinitas is for families. By far, the best schools we experienced and the kids friends are all incredible. Encinitas is a popular spot for surfers. It's a good mix of local surf spots and family friendly beaches. Locals are super proud of where they live! It's the only city I've lived in where locals (not tourists) where tees/tanks/sweatshirts that say ENCINITAS on them, Jeff included and Poppy included;).
WHAT ARE SOME LOCAL FAMILY FRIENDLY FOOD PLACES YOU LOVE?
I have to be honest, I struggle finding amazing food in North County San Diego. The taco shops like Roberto's, Rudy's, Taco Stand and Oscars are good. Breakfast at Four Seasons Aviara is a great spot! We eat at Flower Child a ton, it's healthy and everyone likes it. Burger Lounge has the best onion rings, ever!
"I had no idea how much I would love a backpack as a diaper bag, until Fawn Design. I can easily carry all our essentials, the leather is soft and is also matches our stroller perfectly. Triple win! " - Lisa Allen
